Your best bet it to follow all those hashtags. That will populate your home feed with topics you're interested in.

@tylerlwsmith @brunogirin Just checking: do you know that you can follow hashtags on Fediverse, rather than just individual accounts?
That's how I found most individual people I follow β by seeing their posts in my hashtag follow feed.
@dmbaturin @tylerlwsmith @brunogirin What hashtags do you recommend? I'm fairly new myself and all the ones I've seen so far are low user/activity.

@tylerlwsmith i recommend @llamasoft_ox - he's got sheep and a pony, and he does stuff with game stuff with computers but I'm there for the sheep and the pony. And the weekly trip to somewhere local for a nice curry.

Following people with similar interests is cool and all.
But what I like is people who have different interests and experience.
The mediaeval historian who went investigating why eels where everywhere in records of the time.
The guy trying to work out why there is a faint am radio station replaying the same songs everyday, where there shouldn't be any signal
The bee keeper
The info sec guy
People doing niche hobbies
The retro computer peopleStuff I didn't know about, but have learnt from.
Add some artists, pet pictures, nature photos etc to cleanse

Which beekeeper do you mean?
"Surprised Eel Historian" (greenleejw) used to be on historians.social, but that instance no longer exists. I think they disappeared with it rather than migrate to another instance.
