@BrutalBirdie appreciate that. Most of these gotchas and footguns I've actually run into personally as well. Much of it is just known to @baris and I, and we don't realize what is missing from those docs that should be explicitly spelled out.

@Zielony-XD Are you looking to only have the category names changed? Or are you looking to specifically show only some categories based on language? If it's the former, then you can actually set the category's title as a language key, e.g. [[myplugin:mylanguagekey]] and then your plugin can specify the translations
