        @sky Actual answer? I'll break it down.Tattoo artists get 50% of the hourly wage (on average). If the shop minimum is $100, the artist gets $50. Then they pay for disposable materials. Needle, ink, ointment, disinfectant, razor, stencil, gloves, tegaderm, etc. The shop might provide some. Minimum cost might be $15. Small tattoo might take 30 min, but the artist also has art prep & cleaning time. So 1-2 hours of work, for $35 in the pocket. Not including machine investment, etc.
