I've owned a Crumpler Mild Enthusiast for about 13 years, it's been through thick and thin, held multiple different cameras, lenses, gaming consoles, etc. I've loved it to death. The seams were starting to fail, and finally, the zipper started to fail a few weeks ago.

I knew it was terminal, but just ignored it until I had "time". Well, it made time, the zipper broke at Pride Party. Luckily it wasn't while I was out, just at a regular home pit stop.

I took it in to the "bag spa" they have in town, it used to be just down on Gertrude, but they moved.

The girl immediately said "yeh, we can fix all that, and it'll be under warranty".

Lesson, get a well made bag from a company that respects its customers and you'll never need another

@sortius oh good to know. I’ve been pondering buying a crumpler satchel bag for a while, sounds like it’s worth it

@joannaholman yeh, look, I know people give them shit as being hipster bags, but they're not overly pricey, well wearing (13 years of serious abuse here), and the warranty is good for as long as the company exists

@joannaholman hehehe, I did not, but now I might have to stop at their Gertrude store on the way to the pub this arvo

@sortius I didn’t see any of the super cheap stuff in their physical stores, might be an online only sale

@sortius We love our Crumplers. Not just well made, but locally made and mostly made from recycled junk.

@sister_ratched yep, their "sweat shop" is hipsters, so we can all be happy with that

@joannaholman hmm, ok, I'll look through, although I have a DSLR and no laptop (I use a ROG Ally instead), but a bag for the interim would be nice

@sortius Can confirm: I've got 3 of varying sizes. The oldest one is at least 15 years old, and it has been run-over by a truck at least once.

@sortius At the price I'm willing to take the chance but I guess you'd have to decide if its worth the gamble on something that's absurdly cheap and without warranty

I had one a decade ago. Liked it, but it was itself approximately as heavy as all my daily photography gear.
