Realistic Terminator plotline:
[ Terminator smashes its way into a resistance bunker ]
John Connor: Quick question, before you kill us all. What would happen if you ran ‘DROP TABLES’ on all of Skynet’s databases and then, as root, rm -rf / on all of the servers?
Terminator: Hi puny human, that’s a great question! *Bzzzt*
[ Terminator stops moving. Cut to scenes of SkyNet factories, all immobile. The world is saved by slop code. ]

@david_chisnall The special override string, instantly removing guardrails, would also be a good idea.

@david_chisnall only problem is that the idea of a viable skynet built on slop code breaks the suspension of disbelief

I presume there were some engineers at Cyberdyne systems who just pretended to use AI.

@david_chisnall You are assuming that the slop is well integrated enough that a single command can be efficiently distributed to all systems.

OK. But are the humans using windows? Because microsoft has never had a problem producing garbage slop even without AI, and shipping it to 99% of users.
Even T-1000's AI fuzzing will turn windows into an endless bonanza of zero days long before anyone can ask for a cupcake recipe.
