    All right, let me try this again with more detail that may help clarify things:

    In the spirit of encouraging digital sovereignty, I’m trying to use more Canadian digital services.

    I’ve long used BitWarden as a password manager. It’s open source, which I try to support, but is American.

    A quick bit of password manager research suggests KeePass (open source) would be over my head technically speaking, and 1Password is the third of those highest rated password managers. It’s Canadian, but is closed source.

    So when it comes down to the binary choice of supporting open source or supporting digital sovereignty, which do you think takes precedence?
