i fixed mine idk how but its something about changing some ip address on wifi settings or smth im too lazy to remember rn cause i got it working after a month of attempting every single guide online including ones that were outdated by decades and unrelated to wd drives completely but didnt even think to check if theyre related cause those posts had nice pics in them but then when you open them up they tell u to do stuff that has nothing to do with wds like putting "ipscfg /set DHCP_RECEIVE 0" or some shit or making your router's wpa key be whatever the weird fucking thing that shows up next to the mac address in ipconfig output is i dont know actually ask someone who knows what thayou are talking about ask them because im gay and not as smart as yall (this part was written by me)

tough luck kid toughen up and read manuel pages again maybe google something stupid like "wd easystore network mode" and find some forum post from 2 years ago that says "my easystore wouldnt show up in disk manager but i figured it out by clicking advanced options and enabling cifs file sharing this worked for me for no reason but doesnt work for other people this is why technology sucks and society needs a revolution" and youll be like oh okay ill just enable cifs file sharing on my wd easystore and make it become a tcp/ip server so i can connect to it over ethernet instead of using the dumb ass builtin dns resolution system in windows or somehow change my phone's dns to point to this specific device which is super hard since phones randomly switch between different dns servers without asking you and not letting you set one permanently unless ur rooted and even then its still buggy af and makes your phone slow and shitty forever plus there are many ways this could go wrong and it going right is very unlikely like finding a vulnerability in your dns client or dns resolver causing your whole os
