I've never heard this. I should prob listen while reading all the lyrics. One jumped out: "All the red tape is mechanical rape of the TV program waste."

@tc_morekindness Maybe my least favorite song on Surrealistic Pillow, an album which got a *lot* of play time among friends in my college years. But it was on Side 2 of the album, and I mostly played Side 1. And I still love the album.

@tc_morekindness You've probably heard White Rabbit and Somebody to Love since those got a lot of air time. Good songs!

Less well known are two quieter songs, both quite wonderful:

            Today:
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SXy7G5dtb4&list=RD5SXy7G5dtb4&start_radio=1

            Comin' Back to Me:

@jeridansky You're right, I've heard those first two a lot -- and you're right about the latter two as well. I kept on listening after Comin' Back to Me and heard that song Triad. That was a pretty free-spirited idea. ✌️ 😎 ✌️

@tc_morekindness Gosh, I haven't listened to Triad in ages. But I still remembered the line, even before re-listening just now:
                I don't really see
Why can't we go on as three?

The album came out in 1968, so it certainly fit with the times — at least the times in San Francisco.

Written by David Crosby, per Wikipedia; I never realized that. All the other songs on that album were written by band members, so I sort of assumed Triad was, too.

Oh, that's so interesting. Not surprising, though. He was a maverick, I've gathered.

@jeridansky Oh, so it wasn't on Surrealistic Pillow. I thought YouTube was playing the album and that Triad came after Comin' Back to Me.

@tc_morekindness Nope, different album, Crown of Creation. But it was a reasonable choice for YouTube to pop up after the other two songs.

@jeridansky Ha. When I was listening to Grace Slick singing, "You both stand there, your long hair flowing," I was imagining some hippie guys with long hair. But the line stood out a little because it was an ever so slightly unusual image. Now, knowing that David Crosby wrote it, it makes more sense.
