    I never applied for an amateur radio license because I didn't like the idea of appearing on an official list of "skilled" people. Until now that was a theoretical fear. One I wasn't even sure if it was warranted or just me being overly cautious.

    In Belarus things escalated quickly. Radio amateurs - usually recognized as men of goodwill - have been declared enemies of the state and publicly shamed and indicted for high treason.

      @nblr Similar things happened during martial law in Poland in 1981. Any means of communication were considered dangerous by the state, especially radios.

        @nblr
        They will get you anyway for shitposting on open spaces on the net like here. But you won't have any means to resist if you have never acquired the skills to use radio to defend yourself.

          @harkank Learning is amazing. You can accrue skills while nobody watches and without the requirement of a diploma.

            I'd propose to practice rather NFC than mesh because thats even harder to intercept by the adversary. And never use more than milliwatt chickenshit to contact your friends next door.

              @nblr in the same sense, I am not sure having an ADHD diagnose in a written form in some database somewhere is a good idea
