@Sebastian How did they get the passports NFC-Chip data, when he just scanned it? What form of "scanning my passport at home" does he mean?

@levampyre Of course, that wouldn't be possible with a simple photo. I guess he refers to the privacy policy and terms of service of this company, which also mention NFC, but in general. (Update: NFC is one of the ways to verify via "persona". In that case, unknown data will be stored.)

@Sebastian I mean, in theory you could have an NFC-Chip reader at home and scan that way... Anyways, yes, it's a good article summarizing all the caveats I always have when any online service request any of my data for whatever registration process. I'm really reluctant to participate, esp. as a queer antifascist person in the current political climate. I don't wanna make it easy for anyone to find my door for the next round of pogroms.

@Sebastian @levampyre Persona has also been the platform behind Discord‘s push for age verification^W^Widentity enforcement. So they‘ve been collecting the current and next generation’s faces and IDs worldwide. Thiel‘s founders fund is their biggest investor with a few 100M USD. Other people have also been digging through their infrastructure and practices and it seems the potential sharing partners mentioned here are in good use: https://vmfunc.re/blog/persona
