    I just want to say thank you to the Americans on here who have evidently made a concerted effort to start putting an F to specify when they are talking about Fahrenheit degrees.

    I can't imagine what prompted the recent shift, but it makes a difference, it's clearer and respectful to the rest of the world, and I for one have noticed the change.

    @Tarnport Personally, if I know the audience is global, I try to put both F and C.

      @eestileib

      Listen... I was thinking... do we really need all this stuff? Really?!?!

      I propose the QMTS (Qualitative Max Temperature Scale).

      Very cold
      Cold
      So and so
      Hot
      Very hot

      Do we really need more precision? Naaaa... I really don't think so.

        Let's move all to the Kelvin scale and forget about this antiscientist way of measuring temperature!

        @max @Tarnport forget kelvins and that silly multiplier โ€“ use electron-volts!

          "233 Celsius" kicks ass too.

              @Moss @Tarnport @Myotis_cuniculus But if we reach either freezing or boiling odds are very good we're dead and don't mind.

                      i try to give both! My Celsius is estimate but working a lot in science labs mean I have a few setpoints so i just scale between, haha.

                      I do like F better for daily weather and such because 0 is fuckin cold and 100 is fuckin hot. 0 is fuckin cold in C too, but 100 would be dead. So i do prefer the resolution f gives for livable comfort temps so I kinda wish using both was the norm because in my mind both make sense for different things. (I mean Kelvin is cool too but talk about resolution issues for most things haha.)

                      @Myotis_cuniculus
                      I saw something that said Fahrenheit scale is basically "% hot":

                      0F = 0% hot
                      50F = 50% hot
                      100F = 100% hot

                      And, I mean it kinda is?

                      @Tarnport
