Am pretty sure I met Bob Scienceovsky at an ML conference when we were both in grad school
@zzt @jplebreton ... at the time he (almost always a "he") was just a nerd who was pretty good at matrix mathematics, mediocre at Python, and kept showing up at conferences about theory and talking about how great it was that theory doesn't matter any more
