@irisnk@dorm.social I'm pretty sure you can't sue someone for what is essentially a bug even if that bug causes loss of money, remember that one... wait no, two... actually three times when Microslop rolled an update so shit it physically broke down some SSD's?

@witix@mk.absturztau.be What does that have to do with Big MultiBillion Dollar Corporation yelling "PIRACYYYY!!!" at small open source projects?
You're calling indie devs bootlickers because of a ONE LINE fix meant to preserve the project from, again, malicious Microsoft lawsuits.
They didn't do anything wrong or worthy of drama, they didn't backstab anyone, they're merely trying to stay afloat... -

@witix@mk.absturztau.be btw, that's not even what the update was. the update used newer DirectStorage features which hardware vendors only implemented in newer firmware versions, so all it took was updating the SSD firmware.
Of course, Micro$$$lop is too stupid to update said firmware or check compatibility, or, god forbid, TEST THEIR UPDATES, before rolling them out.
but its not that the update was inherently shit, it's that the entirety of windows hasnt EVER had any QA.
You wanna know what update was bad? The entirety of win11's ui being react native, or Copilot being a thing at all.
ugh
get yr facts straight, willow, i like you, this sucks -

(which is essentially the same as PrismLauncher devs causing loss of money to Microsoft through a bug) and you bring nuance in there that may be correct but is totally irrelevant to what I'm trying to say lmao -

@irisnk@dorm.social I know you think you're smarter than me and need to rub it in my face but I assure you most people can't paste into a json without fucking up the formatting
And continuing down the line of treating me as the definition of "non-technical", I could still download the git repo myself, reverse the "fix" and compile it so you're just not making any sense -

that feature they had has multiple ways to be misused that, again, micro$lop would pwn them in court over...
the whole POINT of me even REPLYING to you was to show you that you're getting mad at the contributors of an open source project, and calling them bootlickers, for what? making sure their project stays up?? why do you hate the prism ppl
