@SallyStrange great, freeing up electricity for AI...
Shame the mining mostly went to ASICs AIUI, if they were still using GPUs that could free up a ton of good hardware, instead it's all gonna be e-waste now...

Exactly. Gold is needed for many industrial purposes, same with silver and all other precious metals. Bitcoin is just a greater fool scheme and if enough fools realize it, it will collapse to zero.
