    my 20+ year old NEC multisync lcd is starting to fail... i can see it struggle with color reproduction more and more

    gosh that screen will be missed when it finally kicks the bucket. 1280x1024 of early IPS glory, two of those have been in my multi-monitor setup for as long as I did this kind of thing

    (shoutouts to Moiré for making the bright parts harder to read)

      @domi did replace my 2002 eizo recently as one of my main monitor with a 16:9 one cosplaying as a 4:3, the 2006 nec one is still serving duty but it very drifted in color over the last few years sadly
      wish it was easier to get non 16:9 ones in small sizes for less than a liver 😕

        @evv42 @domi I'd consider buying one of those super simple eDP to DP breakout boards (brightness controlled by holding the power button, rather than digging through some godforsaken OSD) and pairing it with an appropriately sized 16:10 gaming laptop panel.

        Have already done the same thing with a 2560x1440 panel (the same type that people use to max out their T420/T430 laptops) in a wooden case.
