Disney asked "Andor" creator Tony Gilroy not to use the word "fascism" when he was promoting its second season. Now, he's saying it — and talking about how the show's storylines connect to current U.S. politics. "So you get out your 'Fascism for Dummies' book for the 15 things you do, and we tried to include as many of them as we could in the most artful way possible," he told @THR. "How were we supposed to know that this clown car in Washington was going to basically use the same book that we used? So I don’t think it’s prescience so much as the sad familiarity of fascism and the karaoke menu of things that you go through to do it. You could list them from the show, or you could list them from the newspaper."

@CultureDesk @THR The sad predictable progress of the rise of fascism should allow people to forestall it but instead they acquiesce and allow it to happen again and again

@CultureDesk @THR Historically, nations where people are afraid to call them fascist are fascist nations.

@CultureDesk Darn, it seems the one fanfic link I clicked on was dead, and then I accidently closed the site.

They don’t have a Leni Riefenstahl in there.
Damn, he really did do his homework.

@CultureDesk @THR I thought ghorman was a partial synonym for Gaza
I wonder if he was asked to not mention
Cuz not only do they sound alike, it is the same situation, including the weaving culture and population amounts
And it's an invasion and ethnic cleansing...

@VoxOfGod @CultureDesk @THR this could be, but it also could just be portrayal of something many fascist dictatorships did in the past. For example in Spain or Italy. Or Germany that mass murdered Jews in death camps and starved them to death in ghettos. They also did this to Sinti and Romanies and many more.
So fascists always do such atrocities. However, it makes no difference whether it is a direct reference or an indirect one. It is the same message.
