      Here's some radio trivia for the occasion:
      Amateur radio frequencies were assigned by government but so was a portion of the spectrum set aside for Citizens Band, which required an FCC license but without a lot of electronics knowledge and code requirements demanded by the Amateur classes. It wasn't until the 1970s that the FCC even dropped the license requirement as commercial truckers put it into good use on the road.

      The 10 Code was a carry-over from the licensed CB days but didn't hit public popularity until the 1980s.
