    @Jgbird Huginn and Muninn - Thought and Memory. Odins two ravens who deliver news to him. To be visited by two ravens is a blessing. Enjoy it.

        In spite of everything, birds give me hope. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. And that also gives me hope.

        @Jgbird I love watching crows at my birdbath. They bring peanuts in shell and rinse them, presumably to remove salt. Only afterwords do they crack and eat them. Once I was near the birdbath when a crow appeared and waited on a nearby roof. While waiting, it cracked the shell and held the nut. When I walked away, it flew down and then rinsed it.

            @luminia_collective @Jgbird Yea ravens. πŸ™‚ I'd love to get close enough to one to pet its back, but I doubt that'll be a thing. -T

              @the_spc @Jgbird We'd love that too, but given that Altheda almost got bitten by a bird, it's something we're a bit hesitant about. Though we did pet a cockatoo in 2024 who was being held by a handler, so petting birds are not out of the question. -- Altheda/lillianna

                @luminia_collective @Jgbird Oh I've petted birds often enough in my life time, just not *those* birds.

                  All is well in most of the realms, though Midgard seems a bit wobbly these days. More importantly, what news have you for us?

                    @muninn The oranges have now grown legs, and are walking around among us, but are still acting very fruity.

                      Someone nearby puts out crusts for the birds. Stale, so they're hard. The jays grab one, fly up to my balcony, and drop it in the water dish to soften. After a few minutes, they pull it out and eat it.

                        @Jgbird
                        Corvids? If the Pact has been entered into, then two give you hope at the designated hope-giving place, while one checks the food-leaving place. If food or an equivalent gift has not been left in accordance with the terms of the Pact then the Call is given and a fourth and fifth make off with your shinies.

                        So sayeth the Pact.
