@paco Were you about for the weird rules they started enforcing in their pubs?
Using an electronic device or swearing could get you barred.

@paco the connector looks like a standard K-type thermocouple connector.

@paco You should probably look into ESPHome, even though it can be a bit finicky at times.

@paco the back of the thermoworks reader says it is a type k thermocouple. They are very standard. There will be a million examples projects if you google β€œesphone type k thermocouple” that will guide you in the right direction.

A quick search of my own finds https://esphome.io/components/sensor/max6675/ which uses a MAX6675 chip to read the probe

@paco @franz_e ESPHome goes on an ESP32 and is a companion to home assistant. This is the way.

@paco @franz_e esphome is a microcontroller framework that makes it easy to integrate pretty much anything with home assistant. They are collaborating products, not competitors

@paco Exactly, and that's why you want to look into ESPHome, which is an addon for Home Assistant which let's you add custom devices to your existing HA setup quite easily (if all goes well). These custom devices will usually be based on ESP32 and the likes.
