    “Washington Post Begins Sweeping Layoffs
    The layoffs are slated to shrink the newsroom by hundreds of journalists, cutting into The Post’s local, international and sports coverage.”

        I interviewed Ben Bradlee several times over the years. Trying to imagine what he’d say about today’s gutting of his beloved newspaper, which he helped build into a journalistic powerhouse.

        I’m sure many swear words would be used.

        (Actually, now that I think about it, there would be only one or two curse words, but they’d be perfectly placed. Ben was a great editor, even of himself.)

              Also thinking of Kay Graham. Her heart would be breaking.

                @samlitzinger

                News is more expensive to generate than propaganda, might say Jeff Bezos, and less convenient, in that it doesn't always fit the party line.

                  @samlitzinger As do those of us who are born and bred Washingtonians. Despite its national stature, it was also our local newspaper. That's no longer the case.

                    @samlitzinger I cancelled my subscription a few years ago when they stopped reporting news and instead just are Fox News with a black and white logo.
