I was Mom's favorite! We used to read the New York Times obituaries together and she would talk about everything fit to print.

I, in turn, would read her bits of small fates from the writings of Teju Cole and she would laugh.

"Byers, after a lingering illness... McGee, suddenly... Bannin, at home... and Drucker, at his daughter's residence, all entered the obituary column."

"I'm going to meet God, said Johnson, 70, a janitor in Galena. He climbed 30 feet up a church belfry, lost his footing, and did."

I used to like Google when it enthusiastically said Peanut M&M's were healthy. Now its AI downplays that recommendation.

Sometimes accuracy is accurate but isn't what you want to hear.

I went back and forth about how to shoot this... either as a close-up bird photo or a mostly landscape photo. I eventually ended up with more scene than player because I liked the cold quietness.
