    @pluralistic going to guess this breaks Wikipedia t&cs? Also for Wikipedia "consultants" they've clearly not done their research to end up contacting you!

          @pluralistic tell me you haven’t read someone’s Wikipedia page without telling me you haven’t read someone’s Wikipedia page.

            @pluralistic I'm guessing they didn't read your Wikipedia page before offering to enshittify it.

                  @pluralistic

                  Reading the first paragraph is enough for me to flag that template search optimization bullshit.

                  Undoubtably today it’s been AI generated

                      @manchicken @pluralistic : In 2006, I was contacted by an advertising firm wishing to make me write sponsorised blog posts on my blog.

                      I was broke, I accepted the discussion and had multiple exchange with a real human who didn’t want to tell me who the "big client" was. I only knew I would very proud to write about them.

                      When I eventually refused, the angry marketers told me I missed a unique opportunity to write about… Microsoft products.

                      My blog was dedicated to FLOSS and Linux!

                          @TheGreatLlama @manchicken @pluralistic : worst of all, it was war a ridicule amount (something between 70€ and 150€, depending of the number of posts).

                          I’m not against money. Everyone has a price. But I discovered that, at that level, it was more an insult than being paid.
