Capitalism is clear that it is over-indulgence of all kinds of materialism, and not food specifically. If I understand correctly, capitalism is more gluttonous than gluttony. -

Organizing all of society around the principle of gluttony so the whole thing is completely independent of individual gluttons is clearly a new level. Those mortal sins of olde are for … whatever they called medieval boomers before boomers were a thing. -
