NEW: Minnesota’s Chris Madel just ended his GOP governor run — and did not hold back. “I cannot support retribution against citizens of my own state. US citizens are carrying papers to prove their citizenship. That's wrong. ICE agents with civil warrants are unconstitutional. That's wrong. I'm ending my campaign." #press

Finally, someone with a spine. Out of curiosity, what was the other reason?

Just read up a little on Madel. This is an attorney who provided legal support to the ICE agent who killed Renee Good.
"... The second reason I'm ending my campaign is that I am, above all else, a pragmatist."
I'll bet you are, Chris. Up to about ten minutes ago, you were running your campaign on a platform of fighting fraud, (there wasn't any, it was always a pretext), public safety (the public was safe... until now) and support for police (yeah that's not gonna play well, is it Chris? better be "pragmatic").
I'm seeing a lot less spine and a lot more "uh-oh."

The lawyer John Adams defended the British soldiers of charges during the Boston Massacre. Didn't earn him any Brownie Points, the patriots were mad at him.
We are a people of laws, We can never forget that.

It’s true, that is how we want to be and how we see ourselves. We are also a people for whom the laws are not equally applied. Justice for some but never for all. We can’t forget that, either.

We bow down before his memory - but as with all the other prophets, great and small, we forget their messages.
MLK Jr correctly condemned the USA - we think of him as a civil rights messenger, but he had an awful lot to say about how feckless American governments can be in the face of evil.
