But if the interlocutor already knows, why would we say anything at all?
(I jest; I say this all the time because it's common where I grew up. It does amuse me, though! I imagine most Finns might think it's a waste of words.)

@crystalvisits Our version contains an implied question (more like, “Do you know, …”. At least, in my dialect (‘tiätsä’). So, a little bit more “correct”, at least technically (the best kind of correct!)
