Anyone out there running a self-hosted S3-compatible object storage solution?

    Anyone out there running a self-hosted S3-compatible object storage solution?

    As far as I understand it, it's a file hosting thing where you use free software which mimics the API of Amazon S3.

    This means if you're running software that has an S3 plugin, you just pass it the info of your self-hosted thing and it makes no difference.

    Have I got that right?

    My use case is that I want to do local CMS work, export the entry data, and have the files used for images be "already out there"
