That frequency is a bit low!

About that time I heard a beep from the UPS in the other room and a light flickered.

other direction but high enough for them to send a notice out ๐Ÿ™ƒ

We noticed it here in Taranaki and a friend in Welly asked me if I was doing something on the NAS that I have at theirs because something beeped. So definitely across the island it seems.

The HVDC would have protected the South Island from it (which is handy I guess).

Guess there will be an over frequency event thing now, to go with the under frequency one from the other week (when the HVDC decided to sulk).

My power data from the inverter is updated often enough to catch that 50.5 Hz spike too

Thereโ€™s quite a substantial band of thunderstorms.

Whatโ€™s it normally? 50 Hz? I keep thinking 60 Hz

                Confused with screen refresh rates.

@futuresprog yeah I suspect thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m getting lots of reclose voltage notifications

@futuresprog yup 50. Limits are 49.5 and 50.5 for notifications.

Yeahhhh the transmission network is getting peppered with lightning. Multiple notifications about voltage excursions and now a transmission circuit risk due to losses of some circuits.
