@brianbilston Brian, everybody finds it virtually impossible to cook the right amount of pasta. Either there's far too little or you'll be eating cold pasta for two more meals like it or not.

Best advice I ever got from an Italian friend: equal weight of addons / volume of sauce.
Half cook seperately, finish in the same pot.
Unused pasta can be made into a pizzaesque dish a la bubble & squeak, therefore not as yuck.
