    I'm the PA to a CEO of a very large global corporation. It's been an eye opener for me, the guy can't do the simplest of daily life tasks, like make a cup of coffee. If there was an apocalypse he would be the first to go - that thought keeps me going.

        @fesshole the good news is we are facing an imminent climate apocalypse. The bad news it's that's really not a good news.

          @fesshole Sounds like Satya Nadella. That git can’t wipe his ass unless Copilot gives him step-by-step instructions.

            @gneilyo @fesshole I was going to guess Tim Cook: If he can’t use a computer how would he know his computers are becoming unusable?

                @fesshole our ex-President Sarkozy recently went to jail, and wrote a book in which he admitted he didn't know how to make his bed, or cook anything… 🤷

                  @fesshole
                  Many CEOs are equally useless as leaders or business people, and their companies wouldn't miss them if they were replaced by a random number generator.

                    @fesshole i can't make a cup of coffee (other than at best instant) either. Granted I don't drink coffee so...
                    On the other hand, I wouldn't rank it as a survival skill in an apocalypse either. I suspect most of us would lack a lot of skills we would need in such a situation tbh.

                      @delila
                      For reference, most office coffee machines these days are "Put mug here. Push button." At least the ones that a CEO would be anywhere near.

                        @delila @fesshole The main skill you need is to know how to act collectively. The idea of an alpha male surviving alone beoause he knows how to light a fire with his gun is just completely stupid.

                          @nojhan @fesshole Good point. And I think our individual skills could help us collectively to survive.
                          I do fear that those who have power and resources now will continue to leverage those as things progressively get worse and at least on the medium term have more chance to survive than the rest of us...

                          Thinking more positively, creating strong collectives and communities could be a way to combat that somewhat...

                            @nojhan @fesshole because yeah one alpha male with a gun surviving alone is a foolish fantasy, but hierarchical fascist/extreme right wing groups with access to most of the weapons and remaining resources such as fuel, is more the scenario that I fear.
