@darkuncle ok so turns out that would be fine
if you pet them anywhere BUT their face & back of their head, that's parrot for "I would like to be more than friends" and that's just one of the apparently bajillion ways you get parrot pon farr problems

semi-related: a parrot who got their seasonal anti-hormone cascade shots, stopped pulling out their feathers, & is back to singing about bacon

@sarahtaber I kinda feel like the ::gestures broadly:: is a good indicator of time to have a good multi-week movie binge. Kinda like pandemic. Like, get out there and support your community and push back on the fash, then go home and bundle up with a few days' worth of cinematic franchises
