@mirlo I am well aware the bard class isn't swimming in incoming funding, but outside of just "free" material like #cc0 repositiories or posts out there from photographers and visual mixed media humans, and of course asking if anyone has the spoon/resource to help for free, hashtag commissions, commisionsavailable and many more are great ways to find awesome colleagues out there in the feed. Always good to bring even more human artists into the fold to collab. Tough ask for musos who prolly skipped lunch to make sure a visual artist gets lunch but here we are, and we try.

@mirlo All of that please. I will, generally, give my photos to musicians for just this. I'll even do the layout/design work if they ask nicely.

We, artists, are all in this together. Helping one another succeed is helping all of us.

@mirlo Perhaps also templates that they can use in open source platforms like krita, so even if they don't have design skills they can simply drop their own images into the template and put their own texts. I used to use these a lot for my film posters until I figured out design.

It would also be nice, in the same spirit of collaboration, for those who can to make some samples or tracks available under the same terms for others who need music for their works. Like a leave-one-take-one AV library of sorts.

Musicians would like to be paid for their work; why would they expect album art to be free unless they make it themselves?

I use public domain and creative commons images but I also use artwork with permission. Most artists (but not all) will give you permission to use their art for album art with attribution and a link included in the liner notes.

Sometimes I find the perfect art for the album and I would say I have 90% success getting permission to use it.
