#books #bookstodon #scifi #sciencefiction Good morning world. I'm looking for suggestions for new science fiction books and authors. Thanks for your help.
@lizmeyer Andrew Hindle. Start with "Eejit."

@lizmeyer what have you enjoyed?
Authors: Ann Leckie, Adrian Tchaikovsky, Beck Chambers, NK Jemisin, Nnedi OkoraforRandom books: Space Opera, Light from Uncommon Stars, A Fire Upon The Deep
@noodlemaz working my way through Tchaikovsky, really did try Jemisin. Don't know the others. Been reading science fiction since 1966! I have a fairly vast collection. Love Space Opera. "Hard" science fiction is good.

@DelilahTech @noodlemaz liked Andy Weir
@DelilahTech @lizmeyer try The Final Architecture from Adrian if you haven't got there yet, that's some of his 'hardest' work besides the Children of Time trilogy.
And the Imperial Radch by Ann Leckie
I'm also reading A Memory Called Empire, which is v good. One more after this first I think.

@noodlemaz @DelilahTech Children of time was good. Shroud was excellent. Currently in Shards of Earth.

@DelilahTech @lizmeyer would prioritise some of the top female authors, 'classic' scifi so male-dominated, it's great to get more perspectives in!
The Murderbot Diaries are delightful (better than the series they made recently)
And the Locked Tomb, which is scifi I promise. But also lesbian necromancers

(also loved all those, Shroud my most recent of his too! Alien Clay similarly weird)

@noodlemaz @DelilahTech certainly not averse to female authors - Ursula Le Guin, Anne McCaffrey, and more...
Loved the Murderbot Series! -

@lizmeyer
The newest one I have is the last of @cstross ' #Laundry novels, The Regicide Report.
I don't know if you are ready up in that series, I think this is good so far but probably not an ideal entry point.#ArtificialNoodle is slightly but amusing.
#Scalzi's #OldMansWar series has another one out, a reasonable continuation. The first one was another good effort at a response to #StarshipTroopers the #Heinlein book not film, and to #Haldeman 's #TheForeverWar
#TheStoneWeta newish...
