So Trump illegally enacted tariffs, costing Americans money directly, and now we get to pay more again because companies will seek damages from “the United States”, which will come out of our taxes.

@mcnado It's almost like the actual intent was to destroy the US economy. And Democracy. And soft power.
I'm sure it's all just a coincidence or a libtard political attack though, somehow.

Not only that @mcnado, with the big ugly bill already cutting taxes, the deficit and debt is set to explode. You guys are truly fucked.

@mcnado This was always the game.
They're not about to lower prices either, now that we're used to them, they're just going to suck up that much more profit.
It was an experiment to see how much more money consumers could be bilked out of.

Why don't they just seek damages from Trump himself? Why are they making this OUR problem?

@CosmickTrigger primarily because the law says you can’t. Presidential acts are immune from legal recourse generally speaking (which incidentally is why Trump isn’t currently in jail from his last malfeasance).

@mcnado It’s worse than that even. The tariff price increases will mostly quietly stay in place and the corporations will pocket the profit to pass on to the 0.01% crew that benefits the most and who structure their finances such that they pay almost no taxes at all.
