If Plex Media Server can’t find items in a library, what can one reasonably do?
My Movies library — which I re-created a couple weeks ago — constantly fails to find new files, and forgets tens of files that it previously knew about.
Every one of these goddamn papercuts pushes me ever-closer to Jellyfin. And I hate that for me.
(Please, I’m not interested in alternatives. Just fix my Plex Media Server. It’s very sick.)

@caseyliss is it a permissions issue?
Back when I had a synology I had a legit cron job that would chmod / chown an entire directory and its contents due to mismatching permissions from how the files were created / added

@b3ll No, don’t think so. Fair question though.

@b3ll @caseyliss Actually yeah - NAS auto-move / rename events vs Plex scanning would be my first guess, and something that's bitten me before too
