      there have been a number of things the founding fathers and our foundational documents assumed that we've discovered have massive weaknesses and holes in. assuming that all branches of government and all officials are acting in good faith is definitely one. another is that the whole balance of power thing only works if all three branches are actually balanced and opposed and honest.

      judicial decisions without DOJ/legal enforcement isn't very effective for prevention.
