Good morning and happy middle of the week to everyone!
Anything fun, interesting or exciting on your agenda for the day today?
Nothing exciting for me that I know of other than just return back to work after 3 days off. We have a team meeting today, and those are always super fun and enjoyable. No other meetings that I'm aware of.
@cliffwade Good morning, Cliff. I hope your day goes well. Do you still have snow hanging around?

@cliffwade Morning, Cliff! Nothing special here. Working on my 4-year tenure review and teaching 2 classes today.

@bethroots Thank you Beth! I hope your day is great as well.

@JensHannemann Oh, congrats on the 4-years! I hope that and the two classes go well for you today.

@cliffwade It’s 6am and I’ve been awake for the last 30 min. No idea why.
@dhry 6am is a great time to start the day!

@cliffwade I’ve got yer “great time to start the day” RIIIIGHT here, buddy..

@dhry What time do you normally start the day?
-
@cliffwade 9:00am is my official clock-in time. Yesterday I worked from 8:50am to 8pm because I wanted to finish off a user guide for an internal tool and impress my bosses after just over a month at the new job. I should technically have slept all night.

@dhry Hopefully you made an impression, which I'm sure you did.
My start time is usually 11:30am, but I'm often up between 3am and 4am every day.

@cliffwade My goal was to blaze bright immediately I started. So far I’ve taken three support cases, created a user guide, coached a couple of peers, offered solutions to customers on calls I was just supposed to be silently listening in, and got a record SIX Mac apps approved by security for use. Hate to say it but I think I’m eclipsing the other guy that started same time as me, not my intention but fuck it, I’ve got decades of experience in a role where ten years of that is a lifetime.

@dhry That is awesome and very nicely done! That's how I went into my job as well and what has gotten me to the point of a pretty big promotion already within 3 1/2 months.
That promotion isn't quite official yet but will be in the coming days and then I can speak of it more.
But sounds like you are on a very similar place, but again, not surprising from what I know about you.

@cliffwade Thanks man and congrats. Cream rises to the top or whatever the saying is. I think everyone who interviewed me knew I was overpowered for this role so I’m just going to do what I do and see how I go in a company where there’s lots to be built. As a non builder, that is. Officially. For now.
In other news what’s a Skylight going to run me? Mates rates.

@dhry Thanks! And exactly what you should be doing. Just what we've been taught and know to do. The rest happens for a reason.
It's exactly what I did and it's gotten me where I'm at, or about to be at. They knew when they hired me that I'd do great things and so far, I haven't let them down.
I can get you 40% off. That's the best deal I can do as we get 5 codes for 40% off, and I've used two so far.

@cliffwade That's quite a bit of snow. I hope it's mostly melted by now.
