I know I have a lot of followers who are blind, but I'd like to see how many of you are out there that this post will reach!
Including some additional demographics for interest's sake.

@Bwee I need glasses, but only a mild prescription. Once upon a time I could wear one pair for all situations and I wore glasses all the time. Now I need one pair for normal circumstances and another pair for computer/reading use, and it's a pain to swap between them, so a lot of the time I wander around away from the computer without any glasses on at all. Mostly the non-computer glasses get worn when I go outside, or at least significantly away.

@Bwee
Due to RA related inflammation (and becoming old), I have occasional vision issues that could be addressed by glasses, but they aren't frequency/sever/long enough to require me to use glasses/readers. -

@Bwee we can see okay at short distance, but not so well at distance and especially lights at night cause of astigmatism, so we wear glasses now

@Bwee we might not be able to read something well or at all across the room and watching TV is hard, but computer close up is fine. with glasses we see pretty well still.

@Bwee though the glasses not perfectly correct the astigmatism

@Bwee My caveat is I wear two different pairs of glasses depending on context and can see just fine if I have the correct pair glasses for the context.

@Bwee
I have keratoconus - progressive deformation of corneas. I characterize myself as "part-time blind" .
There are very sophisticated contact lenses that can get me to a decent (can drive but not at night) vision, but they are very uncomfortable. My lenses can only be worn an unpredictable ~8hrs/day, although it used to be 12 when younger.
Without my lenses, I can't see edges, I see too much light. Def "blind" w/o the lenses. -

@Bwee
If I understand correctly, in English term my vision falls into the legally blind, but I had to search its equivalent in "eye chart" (that also usually returns the "20/200" which by itself is in "freedom" units :] ) -

@Bwee Only reading glasses at the moment, but due to genetic lottery there might be some severe deterioration ahead.
My plan is to not care about it yet
