Depends a lot on how far north or south you live and how elderly you are. Also health conditions.

I do find that some little ankle socks are ideal
Keep the toes warm
I kick them off mid-sleep once everything is cosy.
But without, the biting cold of my toes keeps me awake. Essential. Wish I'd discovered it earlier.
