    @mihamarkic @rozeboosje @eunews I believe the US has already threatened sanctions against the UK if we ban X/twitter. So while it be great to see Starmer take a principled stand, it’s understandable that he’s seeking a coalition of sorts to stand with us.

    @WiteWulf @mihamarkic @eunews and that is another reason why we should target the people who put "follow us on X" links on their web pages and ask them to close their X accounts and remove those links. They can threaten "sanctions" against the UK and other state actors and scream blue murder about "freedom of speech" over bans, but they won't have a leg to stand on when accounts use that freedom to voluntarily close their accounts and disassociate themselves from the platform.

      UK Prime Minister Starmer seeks support for international X ban

      UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is in talks with Canada and Australia in an effort to muster support for a potential international ban on social media X. It comes after the platform’s integrated AI assistant, Grok, was used to generate sexualised deepfakes of women and children.

      @eunews go on I double dare you, cause this should have happened years ago, even before Space Karen went full on Nazi salute.

          @eunews

          He should claim that X supports a Free Palestine. The entire liberal democracy project would issue a ban within an hour.

              @eunews seriously wtf.... countries should just ban that site, period. Why look for "support"? Any country that has any decency should just unilaterally ban it. The momentum will build. Others will follow. Those who don't? Sod 'em.

                @vfrmedia @eunews Yeah I knew about Indonesia. It's embarrassing when a country with a human rights record like Indonesia's does better than us here in "the West"

                    @eunews
                    Ban it? Wouldn't a first step to actually be to stop using it? Have Labour or any other party closed their accounts or even stopped posting?
                    Sounds like the usual empty words to me. I doubt he would risk Trump's ire by having any principles.
