Is this a cat thing other cats do?
@colorblindcowboy Serious response: this is called 'head-pressing' and can be a sign that something is wrong. It might be just a weird cat but a vet should take a look.

My cat Tertial was definitely a face sleeper, haha. Although he did "soften" with his paws on hard surfaces

@ephemeromorph From what I’m reading head-pressing involves vertical surfaces, not a horizontal one.
