How long are you active on the #Fediverse?

@stux it's closer to 3 years then 1 year, but not over 3 years yet (July 2023 seem to be when I joined)

@stux I realize this poll is unscientific, but if it's all accurate that's bad news. One would want to see more responses for the youngest category.

@stux I guess it depends on your definition. I've been here on various accounts that may or may not still exist since 2018, but there's been pretty large gaps between regular usage

There’s no algorithm so those that are still starting out or early in their Fediverse experience probably wouldn’t have seen this poll. That compared to those of us that have been around and have followed @stux@mstdn.social

I moved because your other instance was getting too large, and I moved to that from some other instance. Definitely more than 3 years, depending on your definition of “active” 🥴

Oct 31, 2022. Part of the "I ain't sticking around supporting Nazis" 2022 wave. My first instance quit, so joined the most excellent .party in 2023.

Same. I've been around since 2018. I was more active in 2020, then took a break, came back in 2022, took another break. And so on.

@mookie @stux Well, I did say it was unscientific, and I hope you're right! But the flipside of being decentralized is that there's no financial force to seek media attention and otherwise push adoption, so I'll admit to being concerned.

@stux Joined during one of the big migration waves from Twitter, loved the experience and decided to stay. It's been a good time!

I've been here since 2018 and while there are people that have left the Fediverse since, it's always been alive here and lots of nice people to interact with (like how we are).

@fruitcakesareyum @stux Biggest difference for me is I stuck around since 2022-2023 after a certain incident involving a South African wannabe rocket scientist and a sink.
