It is interesting that... look we know the state of mobile gaming is a cancerous shitshow of flippers and zero-day ripoffs.

But so far I haven't seen any obviously AI-driven slop there. I wonder why that is? It's surely not because AI simply can't keep up against this caliber of elite human-powered grifters, can it?

@TomF There's plenty of the slop in the ads for those games at least

@TomF I'm sure there is AI slop of you look for it. Maybe part of the reason why we are not seeing obvious signs is that the big players here has established products that don't need a lot of new content? Not sure.

@TomF Honestly, I think that might be something that is slowly creeping in. A lot of the stuff there is starting to use slop for promotional material (replacing key/concept art use) and I have to wonder at what point do all these voiced VNs have "now with a dozen spoken languages" (all AI stuff not actually VAs). I've already seen quite a lot of these games now doing "available in 20 languages!" and outside of the English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean it's all 100% AI with no human oversight.

@shivoa That's true - it's all over the peripheral stuff that is "tick the box and damn the quality"

@TomF my guess is the LLMs have much less FOSS iOS and Android code to "train" on (ripoff) compared to webapps, etc. plus are gatekeeping app stores for mobile

@TomF I suspect so! The increase in IoS apps is there

@TomF I've seen a sort of interview with some companies a bit ago that proudly pronounced they churn out mobile games with Ai.
From what I saw it might just be hard to tell if it's Ai made because the kinds of games in question were slop before already
