@ProjectFearlessness The mass abuse of women is political. It's systemic as the Epstein files are clearly showing. This is allowed to exist as de facto policy since leaders of both political parties were involved and until recently, protecting each other from this being publicly scrutinized or even legally scrutinized.

You're not wrong, but the point being made is we're all focussed on the political aspects like who might resign or lose their seat while losing focus on who should be charged for the rape and trafficking of women. -

@ProjectFearlessness This is way more than abuse of women. They were bait to blackmail influential men from all over the world, hence the countless times Putin is named. They especially chose underaged girls to make their hold over politicians strong. See Trump trying to wriggle out of their trap. Of course Epstein was not the only organiser.

You're not wrong but until we put the victims of the abuse front and centre of this scandal they won't receive justice. It's about priorities. -

The idea is that these people need consequences and since prosecution seems to be off the table, at least they could lose their seats and be ostracized by society writ large. Exile is a powerful tool... It means the parts of society that protect you no longer protect you and that makes them more vulnerable to further consequences. I think we should be pushing in all ways possible to remove these people from anything that allows them to be normalized. If we can change the political systems that protect these people, then it puts potential prosecution or other consequences back on the table.

The idea is that these people need consequences and since prosecution seems to be off the table, at least they could lose their seats and be ostracized by society writ large. Exile is a powerful tool... It means the parts of society that protect you no longer protect you and that makes them more vulnerable to further consequences. I think we should be pushing in all ways possible to remove these people from anything that allows them to be normalized. If we can change the political systems that protect these people, then it puts potential prosecution or other consequences back on the table.

Yes, you're right, in theory. But you only have to look at where all the attention and energy is going to see how unevenly these two goals are being pursued. -

The US has become lawless. Their fascist hordes already killed several people without even being investigated. The next step will be to make protest illegal. All opposition punished, the media are already silenced or bought, the Washington Post is now put on chains by Bezos.
