Advice please!
I'm looking for a cargo bike.
- Needs to comfortably carry a 100kg me and like 30 - 40kg in shopping
- Needs to comfortably negotiate gravel (so fairly phat tyres)
- Ideally sub-$4,000 AUD
- I'm very open to it being a non-electric bike. An acoustic bike, if you will.
- It will supplement a Cannondale Quick (used for commuting) and a Shogun eBike (used when I'm feeling lazy). We're #CarFree
- Does not need to be newI'm currently using the Shogun to carry me and the shopping, and I'm slowly destroying it. I think it needs to go back to its intended use - a VERY BASIC runaround bike - and I should get something more suited to cargo to carry... cargo!
What are your thoughts?
EDIT: Boosts welcome, and #BikeTooter

@joe might be saying the obvious, but have you considered a trailer for your ebike?

@nikcorg That was my first thought too, so I borrowed a friend's, but the bike is still suffering and it's proving fairly cumbersome for running through town every day

@joe @nikcorg The obvious choice would be a Bullitt, it's fairly easy to find them also used if you will, at least here in Europe... I suggest you to avoid Panda Bike, they are cheap, but I've got a pretty bad experience with one of these (had to spend almost the same of the original price in upgrades to make it useable and safe to ride...). -

@joe We have this, WorkCycle Kr8. Has a seat and seat belts for two kids. Been riding around the year.
Nothing really to complain about, but the price might a bit too much.
