Hard to imagine that Huntsville's public radio station, WLRH, cut NPR programming from its schedule, ostensibly because they don't have the funding. Yet the conservative board overseeing the station and Alabama's public TV supported Congress killing the CPB, which funded local stations. Too much of a liberal bias, they claim, notwithstanding their demand for free speech — as long as it doesn't challenge conservative orthodoxy. Let them fight over control of broadcast radio and TV, supposedly the public's airwaves. Anyone with internet access can stream NPR.
