Cataract update:
For those who have been following awhile, some good news that I'm afraid I'll jinx myself even saying it. I have my first surgery scheduled for Feb 25th! KNOCK WOOD!
The procedure itself isnβt a big worry. The primary stress is the financial side, with a minimum of about $2,000 out of pocket on top of regular bills.

I know many people are dealing with far more urgent needs, so please know that spreading the word or simply commiserating is more than enough. If you are able to help, support links are in my Linktree.
If youβd like something tangible, my Linktree also points to where my prints are available, and my Etsy has both prints and digital mobile wallpapers like the samples shown.
Thank you to everyone whoβs offered support, in any form. It truly matters!!

PS I was already very much in favor of some sort of medicare for all situation. But this would absolutely have been the experience that convinced me if I wasn't already on board. I'm fortunate to have insurance but to still have trouble finding a doctor who takes it and the facility they operate in also takes it has been an experience... Never mind still having big out of pocket expenses even with insurance. We in the US really have the worst system imaginable.

@MarkOnArt had both eyes done here in Vancouver as part of our public health service. Took about 4 weeks from determination that it needed doing to all done. Sorry, not gloating.

@MarkOnArt Yay! Knocking wood on your behalf! I've had cataract surgery in both eyes (years apart) and it makes such a difference.
Just provided a tip on Ko-fi. A dear friend just spent years taking care of her mother who had dementia, so I know, second-hand, a bit about how hard that can be.

@JohnCrowden a civilized country! I don't begrudge you that! Don't ever let them take it away!
