Hey folks - I'm humbled by the support. We've raised enough to comfortably purchase the SSD, but also be able to purchase a second one and configure the two in a RAID 1 (redundant) configuration, so if one fails, we have failover capability.

We're finalizing the bill of materials, comparing pricing to make sure we are getting the best bang for our buck, and then we'll pull the trigger.

Thank you to all who contributed! We'll be off of the DigitalOcean database by the end of the month. 🥳

Our first step is to find a dual NVMe PCI card, and the only AHCI-compatible one we can find is in Burnaby. @adam will pick it up and then send it to me here in Edmonton.

Huge props to him, and gosh - what an amazing team we have.

Update: I think I've accepted all of the beta test e-transfers.

I was able to set up auto-deposit directly into our Mastodon Canada account. It shows my name, but rest assured, it goes into our dedicated chequing account.

I will be updating the instance About page with this development, I know many were waiting on this.

Again, I'm humbled by how many find their third place here and believe in a federated, distributed future.
