I dislike airlines about the same as I dislike banks.

I dislike airlines about the same as I dislike banks. Westjet recently squeezed seats together where people no longer fit in the seats. Then Westjet sends me this e-mail about an upcoming flight I have, asking me to "make an offer" on a seat upgrade.

I clicked on the Westjet link to see what their "offer" is like, to see if I could offer $0.01 for an upgrade. But no.
This is per-leg of the trip, and per passenger. So in my case, 5 passengers and 2 legs, then return flights, that means a total of $9200 additional fee if I was to "buy now".
This is to fly from one Canadian province to another, it is not international travel.
Just like other Canadian airlines, nothing is done to make things better. Everything possible is done to try and wrench every last penny from the customer, including making them feel physically uncomfortable to attain that goal.
