Now that I've "gone viral" a few times for various stupid shitposts, I have an interesting observation. I had a few moderately shared things back on twitter in the day, and comparatively, while things do get liked and boosted equivalently here as they did on twitter...on mastodon, I don't get much in the way of new followers from going viral. On twitter, you'd always get a lot of randos just following the second a tweet of yours blew up.
People on mastodon are more discerning.
Or I'm less interesting here.
Either way.
