Frank Graves: Preferred response to U.S. invasion:If Canada were ever to face a situation in which the United States used military force against Canadian territory, what do you believe should be Canada's primary response?

@AlisonCreekside The question is somewhat misleading because the odds of success are near zero. I would choose the concession option because I have actual skin in the game: A son of fighting age. Maybe the question should be are you willing to blood sacrifice your sons and daughters?
You are so very mistaken; this article points out the reasons many are optimistic.

@northernlights @AlisonCreekside @mike very good article
Canada is not a nice country in war!
Longest undefended border 5500 kms allowing access to US soil. When did the US last have enemy on the lower 48?
And it is easier to burn the WH to the ground since #trump has already destroyed the East wing (remember the war of 1812)

@SaanichGuy @northernlights @AlisonCreekside I'm familiar with the war of 1812, but it was over 200 years ago. Skill as a soldier doesn't really factor in anymore when you have guided cluster munitions dropped on your position from 10 km away. This is my reason for being cranky on the subject: https://thecanadian.social/@mike/115905804495438552

I remember back in basic Officer training, when a classmate reminded me that being a soldier took skill that canβt be overlooked. While that was decades ago, I think it still applies.Warfare has changed significantly with drones. But that is only a single component.
Running small scale hit and run warfare against a large spread out force takes skills. Timing and patience.
Canada would win but it would take time. It is nearly impossible to successfully occupy an unwilling opponent

@SaanichGuy @northernlights @AlisonCreekside The biggest practicle issue is resupply. The US would blockade us and with no overland borders to anywhere else smuggling munitions is nearly impossible. A war against the US would last a week and your insurgents would be armed with 30/30s and three days of ammunition. Also I'm not willing to have my son drive a truck bomb into a checkpoint, if you are well gods speed.

@northernlights @mike @SaanichGuy @AlisonCreekside nah, Canada should surrender with the consesion to become at least 4 independent states, plus asking to make Puerto Rico and DC two other states. Then you guys can put to vote in congress to become an independent nation and take Washington and Oregon with you.
